Multimedia Designer
Badgeville seeks a talented Mid-level Graphic Designer to join our SaaS gamification startup located in Menlo Park, CA. We make the world's most powerful gamification platform that measures and influences user behavior across customer- and employee-facing experiences. Our products and services are actively used across companies around the globe, large and small, in technology, retail/ecommerce, media, health & wellness, travel, green energy, online communities, employee management programs, and more.
This is a mid- to senior-level role with room for growth. The position will offer significant responsibility to a talented creative professional. You will have an amazing opportunity to shape the future of of a young technology brand which was recently named one of Forbes' Most Promising New Companies in America. As a Mid-level Graphic Designer, you are responsible for the vision, quality, and consistency of creative and brand assets. You should be able to think like a Creative Director to manage and refine our brand while coming up with designs for web, print, emails, collateral, and illustrations. In this role, you will work with a team of designers, product managers, writers, and marketers to help tell our story through print collateral, our website, microsites, powerpoints, and other creative assets.
What you'll be doing
- Quickly understand our brand, product and services, as well as product changes, in order to best communicate these visually through all public and internal communications (web, email, print, interactive), driving quality, design integrity, and capabilities
- Help refine and solidify our brand and product branding as we evolve
- Lead projects independently and manage creative resources to ensure quality, on-time delivery
- Act as a creative member of the marketing team, not just a pixel pusher
- Work closely with corporate marketing and product marketing to create collateral for sales and public use
- Brainstorm and bring to life new ideas for ways our story can be told through visual experiences and materials
- Partner with executive team members with presentations and other creative support
What we're looking for.....
- At least 2-5 years experience managing creative services, brand development, or design, ideally in an agency or startup focused on consumer technology or SaaS
- A strong and diverse portfolio across web, email, print, and other collateral
- Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, PPT
- Understanding of content/copy and how it relates to visuals, ability to provide proactive feedback on content
- Thorough understanding of and experience in interactive communications systems and processes, and knowledge of user experience best practice
- Ability to judge creative concepts and copy, and clearly communicate creative direction to others
- Speed -- we are a small team and produce quality materials efficiently, startup or agency experience a plus
- Expert understanding of art direction and storytelling
- Ability to traditionally and creatively display data, statistics and analytics
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills
- Excellent communication, planning, time-management and follow-through skills
- Experience establishing and maintaining brand guidelines
- BA/BFA or equivalent industry experience
Bonus Skills...
- HTML & CSS for email newsletter and web coding
- Copywriting experience (any background in journalism, blogging, writing ad copy a plus OR working directly with copywriters)
- Knowledge of gamification, social gaming, social media, SaaS / PaaS, analytic
- Active user of social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Quora, Pinterest
